The decisions that you make today will influence countless people for generations to come. Education will empower you to make those decisions that will define your path -- Shaun Nanan
Story
Our
Once upon a time,
a head of Computer Engineering Technology Program, Shaun Nanan realized that many students were not adequately prepared for post-secondary education and had to drop out of the program. Shaun was saddened by the loss of opportunity these students faced as he knew that students were not to blame. The problem was with an outdated education system that wasn’t flexible to meet the needs and learning styles of every child. Shaun knew that something needed to be done to address this issue, so he contacted his friend and former classmate Zlatan Fazlagic. Together they decided to take matters into their own hands.
As children of immigrants, Shaun and Zlatan had a passion for education and a deep belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. They knew that early exposure to math and science was crucial for success in today's world, and they wanted to create a learning environment that was engaging and fun for children.
With this goal in mind, they founded Nanan STEM Academy, a place where children could explore the world of math and science through hands-on learning and real-world experiences. Shaun and Zlatan believed that the best way to learn was by doing, so they focused on experiential learning through coding, video games, and robotics.
Their philosophy was simple: if they could make the learning environment fun and engaging, children would reach a high level of competence and develop a love for learning. Shaun and Zlatan knew this was possible because children are taught sports, music and dance at a very young age with great success.
