Driverless Taxi Experience In China

The Nanan Academy team recently visited Wuhan, Hubei, China, to experience the Apollo Moon ArcFox Driverless Taxi. The robotaxi is a collaboration between Baidu Apollo and Arcfox, a BAIC Group brand.

This fully autonomous taxi operates without a human driver, using LiDAR, radar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and GPS for navigation. During our ride, the vehicle travelled to a predetermined destination from Sky Rail train station to Valley Joy City Shopping Complex. The vehicle followed traffic rules, adjusted speed, and responded to real-time road conditions with precision.

There is great potential of driverless taxis to revolutionize urban mobility by reducing congestion, improving accessibility, and enhancing road safety.
