Nov 23, 2022

We were surprised and delighted by the demand for the workshop, we received over 55 registrations. In order to provide as many children as possible with a learning opportunity, the Saskatchewan Science Centre and our teachers are hosting two workshops on November 26, from 1:30 to 3:00 and 3:00 to 4:30 pm.

Below are somequestions we received during registration, you may find them useful as well.

  • Do we need to pay for admission?
The workshop is free and there is no need to purchase the Saskatchewan Science Centre admission. You will enter through the Kramer IMAX Theatre entrance and the staff will direct you to LWJ Gallery. We really encourage you to consider the SSC family membership, it’s a great value for the whole year of fun and learning.
  • Are parents supposed to attend?
Parent attendance is optional. We often hear from parents that they would love to attend our classes themselves so if you are one of those parents this is your opportunity.
  • My child is interested in taking coding classes, where do I sign up?
Nanan STEM Academy will be teaching after-school coding and robotics classes at The Saskatchewan Science Centre starting January 7th. If you need more information please let us know and we will put you on a waiting list.

We are very excited to meet your future creators of technology and learn together with them.

Overview

The kids will love this workshop! This is a great opportunity to get your kids interested in STEM/STEAM subjects such as robotics, coding, and engineering. They will learn how robots work, and how to Program Robots to do amazing tasks such as navigating a maze and winning a sumo match. Additionally, we will teach kids Animation and Video Game Creation using Scratch programming language and Electronics Engineering using Snap Circuits.

Your child will learn about the importance of math and science, creativity, problem-solving, and patience through this hands-on workshop. They will have fun while learning the basics of engineering. Working together with other children will also help them learn social skills in a safe environment.
