Students enrol in a structured program pathway, not just an individual course, designed to prepare youth for post-secondary education. We offer hands on learning in robotics, game design, AI, and entrepreneurship for students ages 8 to 17, as well as computer literacy courses for seniors.

After-School STEM

Ongoing, hands-on STEM classes where participants explore coding, robotics, game design, and introductory AI through guided projects and experimentation.

Specialty Programs

Short programs designed for focused learning in specific areas, offered at set times during the session.

Seniors Computer Literacy & Online Safety
A practical, confidence-building program focused on everyday technology use and staying safe online.

Youth Entrepreneurship Program
Participants learn how to develop ideas, build simple business plans, and present their work at a student business fair.

The entrepreneurship curriculum has been experienced by over 800 students worldwide.

Weekly Schedule

Classes run weekly with beginner and intermediate/advanced groups offered in-person. First class is a free trial.

  • 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm
    After-School STEM: Game Development, Robotics, Coding, and Entrepreneurship. Ages 8 – 18

There are flexible start dates. Participants may join mid-session if space allows.

Meet your instructors

Nanan Academy classes in regina are led by an instructor with deep experience in technology, education, and community-based learning.

Thayne Winder

Thayne’s passion for coding began with a love of video games and a curiosity about console commands and modding. That early fascination evolved into a deeper interest in software development. In high school, he co-founded a robotics club, combining technical skill with leadership and collaboration.

Thayne went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a minor in Creative Technology from the University of Regina. Since graduating, he has worked with local businesses, providing tech support and improving digital functionality.

At Nanan STEM Academy, Thayne brings his enthusiasm for technology to the classroom, inspiring students to explore, build, and thrive in the digital world.

Stephanie Morrison

Stephanie brings over 15 years of experience in post-secondary education as an instructor and department head. She is passionate about student engagement and lifelong learning, and previously led a successful chiropractic practice. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science from the University of Saskatchewan, along with a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.

A mother of two teenagers, Stephanie enjoys watching her children grow and pursue their goals. Outside of work, she channels her creativity through painting, drawing, music, and visual media.

Shaun Nanan

Shaun is a passionate educator and technologist with a deep commitment to empowering communities through STEM. He holds both the Applied Science Technologist and Professional Engineer designations, with a background in Electrical Engineering Technology and Electronic Systems Engineering.

After building his career in industry as a Technologist and Engineer, Shaun transitioned into education in 2010, joining Saskatchewan Polytechnic, where he served for 15 years. During his tenure, he taught in the Computer Engineering Technology program before advancing his leadership roles that led him to become Program Head in 2017 and later Academic Chair in 2023. Shaun also contributes nationally as a Technical Committee Member for Skills Canada, helping shape the future of technical education.

Inspired by his two young children, Shaun co-founded Nanan STEM Academy to create engaging, accessible, and future-focused STEM learning experiences. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada, Shaun balances his professional life with creative pursuits like oil painting and gaming.
