Ringing in 2025 with ‘Noon Year’s Eve’ Event at the Saskatchewan Science Centre

On December 31, 2024, the Saskatchewan Science Centre hosted its annual Noon Year’s Eve event, a family celebration packed with exciting activities and unforgettable moments.

Children and families delved in activities like face painting and the ‘Shrinky Dinks Activity.’ Guests explored the cosmos through the immersive ‘Star Trip’ and marvelled at the wonders of ‘Science Oddities.’ Sweet treats like cotton candy added to the fun atmosphere, while science enthusiasts eagerly awaited the showstopper of the day—the annual Big BANG Show, a spectacular event designed to mark the year’s end with a literal bang!

Families Connect and Collaborate in Minecraft Worlds

Adding to the educational spark, Nanan STEM Academy engaged attendees with interactive STEM activities. Participants explored the basics of coding, tinkered with Snap Circuits to understand electronics, and tested their skills with hands-on robotics challenges. Using Minecraft Education Edition, children and families collaborated to build creative virtual worlds, blending learning and play in a uniquely engaging way.

Students Learn Coding Concepts With The Scratch Platform

The event’s lively energy and diverse activities made Noon Year’s Eve a memorable way to close out the year. It was a celebration of community, creativity, and curiosity, inspiring young minds and bringing families together to start 2025 with enthusiasm.
