Skills Canada National Competition 2023: A Celebration of Trades and Technology

The 2023 Skills Canada National Competition was held on May 25 and 26, 2023, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. With 512 competitors participating in 45 competitions across six sectors, the event drew a record-breaking crowd of over 10,000 student visitors.

The Skills Canada National Competition is an annual event that brings together skilled young individuals who have excelled in their respective trades and technology fields. This year’s event was nothing short of extraordinary, with participants representing provinces from coast to coast. Competitors showcased their skills and expertise in sectors such as Construction, Employment, Information Technology, Manufacturing & Engineering, Services, and Transportation.

There was amazing energy and hard work by all competitors from every province as the students cheer for their future careers. It’s a celebration of trades and technology, and the students aspired to make a mark in their chosen fields.

The event featured a wide range of competitions that tested participants’ abilities, creativity, and problem-solving skills. From carpentry and electrical installations to web design and culinary arts, the diverse competitions reflected the evolving demands of the modern workforce. The competitors demonstrated not only technical proficiency but also a deep understanding of their chosen fields.

In addition to the competitions, the Skills Canada National Competition also offered Try-A-Trade and Technology activities for student visitors.
