Stacey Piercey

Stacey started teaching entrepreneurship in 2017 to a group of early elementary students as an after school program. Needing a teacher for the program, she was told “teach anything you want”. After a career in technology and business ownership, teaching children to start a business seemed the natural choice. That first course was a huge success with every child starting their own business, however other developmental benefits emerged. Parents noted a significant increase in their child’s self confidence, not to mention the development of several other important skills such as perseverance, resilience and creative problem solving. The program eventually developed into a full curriculum experienced by over 800 students worldwide and is now being offered through Nanan Academy. Stacey believes every child should be given the opportunity to start a business. Even for just one business fair, and never again. The act of doing so builds skills for life.
